Swanson Flavor Boost Review, Giveaway & Merlot Sauce Recipe

Swanson Flavor Boost Logo
Elevate your everyday dishes instantly with Swanson® Flavor Boost® concentrated broth, a kitchen essential that adds flavor to any recipe
It's no secret around here, I love to cook! Although I do not get to cook as much as I would like to, I still love being alone in the kitchen and making up new recipes or adding my own special touch to some classic dishes! Sometimes, that isn't enough and I need a little help adding a little extra something to my dishes.

Swanson Flavor Boost is that magical ingredient that can take any dish and bring it to the next level. I was lucky enough to get to try out all four flavors: Chicken, Beef, Vegetable, and Seafood. These magical little packets are concentrated and ultra convenient packets of Swanson broth that allow you to have complete control over the flavor intensity of your meals! Want a mild flavor, mix the packets with some water before adding to your dishes. Need something to entice your taste buds? Then squeeze a whole, undiluted package into your dishes. These packets are completely versatile and delicious too!

Swanson Flavor Boost

Each flavor of Swanson Flavor Boost is 100% natural, with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, as well as no added MSG!

So, what can you do with the Flavor Boosts? I'm glad you asked!

Chicken

I made a whole chicken in my crock pot. Once it was done, I poured all the leftover liquid into a pot and added two Swanson Chicken Flavor Boost packets. The broth simmered for a few hours on low heat then was strained. Now, I have the perfect stock for chicken noodle soup!

Beef

With the beef we did something special. We've been making cheeseburger pizza for years but this was our second one since I started eating meat! After I browned the beef, I drizzled a full packet of the Beef Flavor Boost over the meat and let it simmer for a few minutes. Throw your favorite pizza toppings on a pizza dough, sprinkle with meat, and cover with cheese. Bake in a pre-heated oven on 375 for 20-25 minutes and you have the best of both worlds! My husband was floored by the intense flavor of the beef and declared it was the best one we've made yet!

Vegetable

I think the vegetable flavor is best with sauteed veggies. Coat vegetables of your choice in two packets of the Flavor Boost and toss. Cook to preferred tenderness!

Beef & Chicken

Merlot SauceMy favorite recipe was for a Merlot Sauce for grilled steaks! It was a special treat for my birthday since we were too busy the actual day of my birthday. This sauce is a great covering for a cheaper, less flavorful steak or, as we found out, a great dip for fresh baked bread!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Chicken Flavor Boost pack
  • 1 Swanson Beef Flavor Boost pack
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstartch
  • 1/3 cup Merlot

 Directions
  1. Place 1/2 cup water and Flavor Boost packs into a pan
  2. Mix 1/4 cup water with cornstartch
  3. Pour into pan and whisk
  4. Allow to simmer until just starts to bubble
  5. Reduce heat to simmer and add Merlot
  6. Stir and simmer for two minutes
  7. Pour over steak

We did not get to try the Seafood flavor because I'm allergic to some seafood and just cannot stomach the rest! But, I can guarantee, if it's half as good as the other three flavors, then it must be pretty amazing!
