Fun At The Movies {CLOSED}

I used to go to the movies all the time when I was younger. Then I had kids, costs went up and I just didn't have time to go as often. In fact, it was years since the last time I saw a movie. Pretty sad huh? Well I just went the other night, and it was just as much fun as I remember. The kids decided they didn't want to see the movie that was playing that they could watch, so they elected to stay home with the promise of a next time in the next couple of weeks. Of course I wasn't going to say no to that, a date night in a sense, just the boyfriend and I. How fun!

We got there about 10 minutes early and were surprised when we walked into the theater room and no one else was in there. Right before the start of the movie a woman walked in and another followed, but that was it. Just the four of us in a nice silent theater. I'll admit, it was kind of nice not having any heads in our way or having to listen to chatter, even though it's supposed to be quiet. It made for a nice peaceful movie.

General Mills started a special campaign just this month where you can receive a free movie ticket with the purchase of two General Mills specially marked boxes of cereal. Just simply find your codes inside each box after purchase and enter them at generalmills.com/moviecash so you can print your coupon good for admission to any movie. Click here to find a theater that's participating near you.

How would you like to win a Movie Moment Prize Pack? The prize pack includes 4 e-movie cash certificates ($12 each) and one (1) free coupon for a General Mills cereal.

Here's the scoop on how to enter my giveaways and get extra entries. Please leave a separate comment for each extra entry, otherwise it will just be counted as one. Your loss.

For your first MAIN entry: Tell me something memorable from a time you went to the movies. This step must be done before you can qualify for extra entries.
  • Post the Holiday Gift Guide button on your blog
  • See all extra entries here.
This giveaway is open to residents of the US until December 2nd at 11:59 pm.

I was given a Movie Moment Prize Pack from General Mills through My Blog Spark for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions expressed are my own or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation. Take it or leave it. Click here to view my full acknowledgment policy.

    I guess the most memorable experience for me in a theater is when we took my nephew for the first time. I was terrified that he wasn't ready to sit in a movie the entire time (he was 3) but WOW did he impress us! We watched Madagascar 3 and he sat and laughed and watched! It was so great!
    Thanks!

  3. When the remake of the star wars movies cam out, i went to the midnight showing with a bunch of friends. I had never seen any of the old movies so really know nothing about them. I can still remember how shocked i was to find out how many people were there and all the costumes! It was hard and still is for me to understand how someone could be SO into a movie to come in costume!

  4. I remember going to see the movie "Father's Day" with my husband (he was my boyfriend at the time). The movie was terrible, and there was no one else in the theater, so we fooled around. ;-)

  14. I remember a few times, but in particular: I'm a HUGE Twilight fan-I mean HUGE doesn't even describe it correctly. I wanted to go see the first movie when it came out, but got sick and couldn't go, so you know I was majorly depressed.
    My dad saw that I was bummed and took me to see it the next day :)

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  25. Ive had teens and its hard to get them to want to do anything with OLD mom and dad. When my son was a teen just the two of us had a MOM and Son dinner and movie night and saw TWISTER. At that time the special effects were SO amazing. He still calls me when it comes on tv. He now has two little ones and is 27. I am hoping to take my 12 year old to the football movie with Sandra Bullock in it and make a memory with THIS son too! I have always taken more time with outings including my 4 girls, but Mom & Son time is SO important too!

  41. I saw Gone with the Wind for the first time when I was 13. RIGHT before the intermission was when Scarlett was saying, "As God as my witness, I'll NEVER be hungry again." I cried and cried, so I was horrified when the lights came on for intermission and I saw somebody I knew in the theater. I ducked down because I was totally embarrassed that I'd been crying and she might see me. Oh, to be young again!!
